Source code to the .NET Framework version 3.5 will be available to developers when Visual Studio 2008 ships. Developers will be able to download and view the source code and use it to help in debugging their applications. The source code will be viewable in any text browser, but Visual Studio 2008 will provide enhanced support for viewing the source code. The final release of Visual Studio 2008 will be able to dynamically download the debugging symbols and source code for .NET directly from servers hosted by Microsoft all at once or on demand.
Source will initially be available for:
• .NET Base Class Libraries
• ASP.NET
• Windows Forms
• ADO.NET
• XML
• WPF
After the initial release, the source for WCF, WF and LINQ will also be released.
